Description

The European Regulation 2016/679 known as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) must be implemented by 25/05/2018 with the aim to provide enhanced protection to all data subjects. Data subjects which enjoy the protection of the Regulation are all physical persons that deal with any financial institution. Therefore, it is of utmost importance for the financial institutions to comply with their obligations under the new Regulation. The fines that may be imposed by the Commissioner in case of infringing the provisions of the law may reach up to 20 million euros or 4% of the company's turnover.
